ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ozoz Sokoh is a Nigerian food writer, educator and traveller of flavours. Trained as a geologist, she launched her blog, Kitchen Butterfly, in 2009 to chronicle her culinary journey. Her work centres on the connections food creates, highlighting themes of food sovereignty, cultural identity, reclaiming Nigerian cuisine, and the pure joy of sharing a meal.

ABOUT CHOP CHOP: COOKING THE FOOD OF NIGERIA

Chop Chop by Ozoz Sokoh is more than a cookbook; it’s a journey into the heart of Nigerian food culture. Through recipes layered with history, memory, and meaning, Ozoz shares how food connects people across generations and geographies. Each dish tells a story of heritage and celebration, inviting readers to not only cook, but also experience the spirit and community woven into Nigerian cuisine.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • We each will bring one recipe from the cookbook. Please sign up for a dish in the Google Sheet by Wednesday, September 10

  • If you’re bringing a guest, they would also need to RSVP AND bring a dish

  • Please do not send this link to anyone else as we have only sent out invitations to those who have filled in their Interest Form.

  • On the day, we will gather, mingle, and try each other’s wonderful Nigerian creations!
